Blast furnace cement with high slag content (type III)

This cement type consists of a minimum percentage of 36% blast furnace slag, added to the clinker-calcium sulphate mixture. Three categories are possible for this type: III A with 36%-65% slag; III B with 66%-80% slag; and III C with 81%-95% slag.
Cementir Holding, a leader in blast furnace cement manufacturing, makes classes 32,5 N and 32,5 R for type III A, and classes 32,5 N, 42,5 N for type III B.
In addition to being used for ordinary construction, blast furnace cement is particularly suited for special works requiring high resistance to erosion by environmental agents, as well as in massive jets, for its characteristic of low hydration heat (generally employed for underwater construction, dams, etc.).
